Yellowtec iXm PREMIUM Head (beyerdynamic) Supercardioid

beyerdynamic’s PREMIUM head with supercardioid recording pattern is designed for recordings in noisy environments. As its directivity is even higher than the cardioid’s, it optimally filters extremely loud background noise. Thus, it ensures crystal clear recordings through excellent and natural frequency response. The supercardioid pickup pattern suits best for interviews in loud surroundings like major events, e.g. sporting events, motor sport races or concerts. It should be noted that recording quality will be heavily impacted by the adjustment of the microphone towards the sound source.

Using beyerdynamic’s supercardiod microphone head, there is no common proximity effect of directed microphones due to the high-pass-filter that is found inside the iXm Recorder’s LEA Engine. LEA achieves a perfect balance of frequency ranges.

As an electret microphone head, this microphone iXm PREMIUM supercardioid  is created to capture smallest sound pressure levels. Its recording pattern is more sensitive in higher frequency ranges which results in a higher resolved pattern in the end zone compared to a dynamic microphone head.
